Confidence in the sovereignty of God in all that affects us is crucial to our trusting Him. If there is a single event in all of the universe that can occur outside of God’s sovereign control, then we cannot trust Him. His love may be infinite, but if His power is limited and His purpose can be thwarted, we cannot trust Him. You may entrust to me your most valuable possessions. I may love you and my aim to honour your trust may be sincere, but if I do not have the power or ability to guard your valuables, you cannot truly entrust them to me. - from Trusting God, by Jerry Bridges
"Once we agree with God that we exist for His pleasure and His glory, we can accept whatever comes into our lives as part of His sovereign will and purpose. We will not resent, resist, or reject the 'hard things,' but embrace them as friends, sovereignly designed by God to make us like Jesus and to bring glory to Himself." - Nancy Leigh DeMoss

Hi Stephanie!
"Confidence in the sovereignty of God in all that affects us is crucial to our trusting Him. If there is a single event in all of the universe that can occur outside of God’s sovereign control, then we cannot trust Him." This really sums it up. We must learn that nothing is out of His control. It is hard to fully grasp.
Hi Stephanie! I have something for you. Please stop by my blog when you get a chance. :D
Yes, Yes, Yes! absolutely yes! if God is not sovereign it is hard to trust Him...in fact I would go as far to say that He wouldn't be God. Why? because if there is something that can escape His hand (His will) then that thing has more power than He does. The Lord of scripture is Almighty, He is sovereign over all things and we can definitely and SHOULD definitely trust His sovereign will.

Amen! and specially when He has told us in Scripture that: "...all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose." Rom 8:28
