"I, the Lord, am your God, Who brought you up from the land of Egypt; Open your mouth wide and I will fill it...But I would feed you with the finest of the wheat, and with honey from the rock I would satisfy you."
These verses are in reference to Israel, but they still express the guidance and compassionate care that God gives all His children. "Open your mouth wide..." I love that! It expresses so well the expectant attitude we need to have before God - there is so much of Him to be discovered and enjoyed, if we would only turn to Him and receive it.
Thanking God for His guidance and provision in my own life, I was reminded of a hymn by Fanny Crosby, "All The Way My Savior Leads Me". I looked up the lyrics and was so blessed by the truth that they express, I thought I would share them. : )
All the way my Savior leads me,
What have I to ask beside?
Can I doubt His tender mercy,
Who through life has been my Guide?
Heav’nly peace, divinest comfort,
Here by faith in Him to dwell!
For I know, whate’er befall me,
Jesus doeth all things well;
For I know, whate’er befall me,
Jesus doeth all things well.
All the way my Savior leads me,
Cheers each winding path I tread,
Gives me grace for every trial,
Feeds me with the living Bread.
Though my weary steps may falter
And my soul athirst may be,
Gushing from the Rock before me,
Lo! A spring of joy I see;
Gushing from the Rock before me,
Lo! A spring of joy I see.
All the way my Savior leads me,
Oh, the fullness of His love!
Perfect rest to me is promised
In my Father’s house above.
When my spirit, clothed immortal,
Wings its flight to realms of day
This my song through endless ages:
Jesus led me all the way;
This my song through endless ages:
Jesus led me all the way.

Hi stephanie! I love that verse! It makes me think of baby birds sitting in a nest with their mouths wide open waiting for their mom to feed them. I think that's how we should be with God. When we meet with Him, we should be expetantly waiting to be fed! Beautiful!
To answer you question. I not sure what I want to do after I graduate. I'm a human service major- a mix of sociology and psychology. I know I want to work with people. I want to work in a way where I can help meet peoples need, epsecially their spiritual needs. I love the idea of working in a home either for pregant teens, orphans, troubled kids, or some type of program that ministers to peoples needs. I'm leaving it up to Him. :)
What about you?
Hello! Thankyou for visiting my blog. Great post to read today. We surely do need to turn to God with everything and open our mouths wide to receive what he has to give us instead of suffering from spiritual anorexia.

I love that verse too. Not only does it speak to me about His abundant provision but also about how He will fill my mouth with His words if I allow Him too. I needed this on both counts today. Thank you. :)
